Our projects
Kujtesa is currently focused into expanding its network coverage and capacities to achieve its objectives of delivering scalable and reliable solutions. Significant highlights of our current and future projects are shown below:
• Pristina Fiber-Optic Backbone Ring project seeks to provide gigabit capacities to our customers creating a redundant and reliable Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and connecting multi-service access nodes (MSAN) which support our offerings of triple-play services. This project enables the expansion of our network to include a larger part of Pristina.
• Residential Cable Expansion – Kujtesa is actively working to increase the cable residential coverage from 20,000 to 55,000 household who will have the opportunity to use our delivery of "triple play" service, or “data, voice and video” over a single connection.
• Kosovo Fiber-Optic Backbone Ring project is on its way of delivering gigabit capacities to interconnect our points of presence (POPs) throughout Kosovo.
• International connectivity upgrades with Albania and Serbia – Further plans are to upgrade international connectivity with surrounding countries providing terabit capacities.
• Massive WiMAX implementation – The application of WIMAX technology is still under development and expansive implementation.
Kujtesa, Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards-based broadband wireless equipment and Iskra Sistemi, a leading European Telecom Equipment Manufacturer based in Ljubljana, Slovenia have formed a consortium to establish a nation-wide WiMAX network. With this initiative, Redline and Iskra are the first to bring a WiMAX Forum Certified™ network to the region.
This is the first true certified WiMAX network in Kosovo, and it will incorporate Redline’s RedMAX and Iskra’s SparkMAX products, is being designed and developed to provide fixed and mobile voice services and IP connectivity for Kujtesa. The Redline and Iskra WiMAX products support IP connectivity for small and medium business customers throughout the country, bringing the fastest and the most reliable and cost-effective wireless broadband services available.
